“The original republic was thought out carefully, and openly, in The Federalist Papers: we were not…”

“The original republic was thought out carefully, and openly, in The Federalist Papers: we were not going to have a monarchy and we were not going to have a democracy. And to this day we have had neither. For 200 years we have had an oligarchical system in which men of property can do well and the others are on their own. Or, as Brooks Adams put it, the sole problem of our ruling class is whether to coerce or to bribe the powerless majority. The so-called Great Society bribed; today coercion is very much in the air. Happily, our neoconservative Mongoloids favor only authoritarian and never totalitarian means of coercion.”

Monsanto CEO trashes company’s opponents over ‘elitism’ — RT USA:

rtamerica:

The chairman and CEO of Monsanto Co. condemned opponents of his major biotech corporation by accusing them of ‘reverse elitism’ being spread through social media.

Monsanto cannot stop at genetically altering food. Monsanto must also alter the meanings of what words mean. Monsanto actually victim persecuted by an evil elite.

Monsanto not sociopathic monstrosity! Monsanto kind of good if reality itself can just be warped enough to understand it!

Turkish Flag Appropriate Backdrop for Obama’s Scary “No Apologies”

It only took some rain and a Turkish flag backdrop for Obama to finally start to make the visual transition to evil supervillain, as earlier today he defended his escalating attacks on freedom of the press.

Yeah, probably not a good idea to say the words “No Apologies” when Obama is in the middle of kissing the ass of Turkey, an unapologetic genocidal state currently partnering with the CIA to destroy Syria - presumably because Turkey is so good at getting away with genocides?

Furthermore, “No Apologies” is an offensive choice of words considering Obama’s cowardly and very public flip-flop on the recognition of the 1915 genocide committed by Turks against Armenian, Greek, Assyrian and other Christian peoples. In case you didn’t hear - where would you have? - Obama supported the recognition of the Armenian Genocide right up until he took office as president, when he then backed Turkey’s refusal to apologize for their crimes against humanity.

The Turkish-American alliance should be a sign to everyone who the villains are as we enter a very interesting period of world history. Suggestion: Obama should keep the Turkish flag around for whenever he officially announces the domestic suspension of civil liberties that he’s already undertaken. It will be a very clear image at a time when words won’t really work.

“Obama has not only openly asserted powers that were the grounds for Nixon’s impeachment, but he has…”

“Obama has not only openly asserted powers that were the grounds for Nixon’s impeachment, but he has made many love him for it. More than any figure in history, Obama has been a disaster for the U.S. civil liberties movement. By coming out of the Democratic Party and assuming an iconic position, Obama has ripped the movement in half. Many Democrats and progressive activists find themselves unable to oppose Obama for the authoritarian powers he has assumed. It is not simply a case of personality trumping principle; it is a cult of personality.”
